This manual provides documentation concerning Horton Township's adoption and implementation of the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ontario Regulation 429/07 in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians Disability Act 2005 (AODA)
The Township of Horton encourages feedback from residents and visitors of the Township to assist in identifying barriers related to accessibility.
As a designated public sector organization with one or more employees, Horton Township is legally required to file an accessibility compliance report every two years. This policy establishes the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation in the areas of Employment Standards, Information and Communication and for the Township of Horton in accordance with Ontario Regulation 191/11.
The AODA is the law that sets out a process for developing, implementing and enforcing accessibility standards that government, businesses, non-profits and public sector organizations must follow to become more accessible. These laws and standards are intended to make Ontario open to everyone by helping to reduce and remove barriers.
